Back after a long break and with a what else but a cricket post :).
I think every Indian and Pakistani cricket fan would remember that shot. This is what Ind-Pak encounters are made of. It was long over due that it was repaid to our most respect arch rivals. Who better than an equally vocal and eccentric player of the modern times as the great Miandad to repeat the effort.
Thanks Bhajji paji. Now i guess Chetan Sharma will sleep properly at nights. It is amazing how the emotional reaction is similar in both cases.

I am not sure with the conclusion and can still see Chetan Sharma wide awake after nightmares during all the nights :-)
Both of these are sweet moments to cherish by fans for sure though. Thanks for bunching them together.
Also, I am not really sure if the recent Asia cup can be compared with those epic Sharjah matches....may be for me Old is Gold...LoL.
In my opinion, the rivalry between the two countries was much bitter in the last century (most bitter in 80 and 90s). Things apprear a bit mature and non-rhetorical now. The standing ovation of the Chennai fans in the 1999 Pak tour of India and the appreciation of the Pak junta to Ganguly's success in 2003(?) suggest open and mature public behavior appreciative of close and keen contest.
I do agree one thing: Ind-Pak contest is bigger than Ashes any given day.
